A few accounts here carry a badge. This is what each one means and — more
usefully — what it does not.
The badges
Team — an employee of Place to Mingle. Their answers are the product's
position. They can see account details you cannot, and they will not discuss
them in a public topic.
Moderator — a member who moderates one or more specific forums. They can
approve, hide, move, lock and edit posts in those forums only. A moderator
of Bug Reports has no authority in Billing.
What a badge does not mean
- It does not mean the answer is right. Team members are wrong sometimes; say
so, with evidence. - It does not mean the person can see your password, your payment details, or
your private messages. Nobody can. - It does not mean they will answer faster.
Impersonation
Every member has a permanent handle — the @name next to their display
name — which is assigned once and never changes, even if they change their
display name. If two accounts show the same display name, the handles will
differ. Trust the handle, not the display name.
Anyone claiming to be staff without the badge is not staff. Report it.
